Capabilities

Floor Plans
The floor plans survey will be carried out by fully controlled methods whereby a series of survey stations will be traversed through the building, these internal survey stations will be linked to control stations around the exterior of the building and on the roof.

Therefore, all parts of the building will be accurately co-ordinated onto the same grid system, making it possible to overlay floor plans, by this method the vertical relationship between various elements of the structure can be determined.

All our Building Surveys are carried out in accordance with the Royal Institute Of Chartered Surveyors specification for measured building surveys, section five and annexe E.

The accuracy of the floor plans is better than  noted in Item 5.1 which states that the absolute plan position of any well defined detail shall be accurate to + 0.3mm RMSE at the specified plan scale.

Elevations
The elevations can be detailed and show all walls, plinths, windows, glazing bars, mansards, dormers, apertures, doors, balconies, service equipment, surface finishings, i.e. stone, brick glass, slate etc. major string courses, parapets, ridges, chimneys, downpipes and any other specified features including the precise location of bricks or stonework in the construction.

The elevations may be 'Outline Only' and be limited to the basic openings, alternatively we could use a photographic technique and supply levels on standard 35mm photographs, rectified photography or a detailed elevation by terrestrial Photogrammetry.

Sections
The sections can be in outline form to show all floors, ceilings, beam soffits, window cills and heads, door heads and the external roof profile or sectional elevations to show the detail behind the section lines.

As with our floor plans, all elevations and sections are produced by fully measured methods.

Verticality Checks
We have been asked to verify the verticality of many structures from lift shafts to tower blocks, church steeples to the neighbouring flank walls on a demolished site.

Area and Volume Analyses
Many clients employ us to return to site on completion of the project to verify the area / volume figures.  Even small differences between design and construction can have a significant impact on lettable areas and financial status of the project.
